Our Vision
The AAIE Mission is our declaration of the unique identity to which we aspire - describing who we serve, our specific purpose, and what we seek to achieve for our membership. Our mission describes the extraordinary purpose of AAIE - and serves as a focal point toward which we concentrate disciplined action, effort, resources, and energy.
AAIE is your place to gather as a world community throughout the year - to belong, to learn together, and to know that to engage in envisioning the future of learning is the underpinning of success for our students. The future of our schools depends on vision, wisdom, courage, and integrity. Our Strategic Plan
In October 2022, the AAIE Board of Trustees came together to create a five-year strategic plan for AAIE to ensure that the organization meets its mission and goals for its members. The plan focuses on Leadership Capacity, Nexus For Collaboration, and a Streamlined Organization. Take a look at the Strategic Plan that was presented during the AAIE 2023 Global Leadership CONVERSATION at the AAIE Annual General Meeting (AGM).
GOAL ONE:
Leadership Capacity
WERE WE ARE AT
AAIE will support leadership capacity at all levels of a school. As a convener of the community, we will bring all voices together to push for change, develop aspiring leaders, and work so that our school have great leaders.
ACTION ITEMS
- AAIE will offer cutting-edge leadership development and online support year-round, promoting thought leaders in the educational leadership area
- AAIE will hold an annual event for leadership development and community building/expansion
- AAIE will foster leadership development for up-and-coming leaders as well as support for leaders already guiding schools, to grow and expand their thinking and work

AAIE will bring together thought leadership focused on collaboratively transforming schools and organizations and developing leadership potential. As the convener of the community, we will bring together the expertise needed to advance our schools. We are better together.

The Work We Do
Through weekly programming, annual gatherings, and ongoing outreach, we connect together ideas, perspectives, success stories, member expertise, and thought leaders from around the globe. AAIE promotes and communicates current educational research, teaching and learning practices, best-in-class trends, and change leadership to promote continuously improving and future-ready schools. From the very beginning, and even more necessary and true today, AAIE is the worldwide organization that connects school leaders to a vast array of resources, new ideas, and opportunities serving as a disruptive influence and change agent to ensure the viability, integrity, and future of overseas international schools. With the executive home office in Princeton, NJ, AAIE brings people, ideas, cultural understanding, and values together where everyone learns, benefits, and belongs.
