STRESS REDUCTION AND REJUVENATION:
A RETREAT FOR INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL LEADERS
Half day morning, February 5, 2023
This half day session is intended to assist participants in using mindfulness practices to foster rest, renewal, and stress reduction. In cultivating a sense of presence from moment to moment, and being open to any experience, whether evaluated as pleasant, unpleasant or neutral, this retreat is an opportunity to practice mindful attention, for the express benefit of one’s wellbeing. Derived and adapted from the Mindfulness-based stress reduction curriculum, this retreat is accessible to all people, especially beginners to mindfulness.
This session is being offered by Dr. Paul Richards free of charge, for participants who are interested in spending a transition day before the full AAIE conference begins; those people who are willing and able to invest in their own well being–touching on mental, physical, and emotional health–as an act of self-compassion.
“Caring for myself is not self-indulgence, it is self-preservation, and that is an act of political warfare.” - Audre Lorde
