Our Board of Trustees

The AAIE Board of Trustees serves as the governing body of the Association, and as such, is empowered to set policies, oversee the finances of the organization, hire the Executive Director, and deal with all other issues of the Association that come before it.

The Board of Trustees consists of the President, President Elect and Treasurer, as well as two members who are based in the United States: one member representing the overseas regional associations, and three overseas school heads. Each member of the Board must be a School member of the Association. The Office of Overseas School of the US Department of State (A/OS) is entitled to appoint a non-voting representative to attend and participate in all meetings and discussions of the Board of Trustees.

The AAIE Constitution states that all candidates must be current School members of the Association. A list of candidates for the Board of Trustees is proposed by the AAIE Nominating Committee, announced to the membership and then voted upon at the annual meeting. To learn more about being considered for a position on the Board of Trustees, please contact info@aaie to begin the process.
