Important Dates & Times for the AAIE Summer Institutes
Saturday/Sunday 23,24 June- Arrive in Fort Lauderdale or Miami. Hotel Sonesta or overflow hotel DoubleTree. See what is around hotel(s).Monday 25 June - Thursday 28 June
- (Monday only)Busses leave Hotel between 8 and 8:15
- (Tue-Thurs) Busses leave 8:15 -8:20.
- Arrive NSU 8:30-8:45 (Registration Monday Only).
- Opening sessions begin daily promptly at 9:00am
- Lunch and 2 Coffee Breaks during the day
- Busses leave NSU to go back to Hotel at 4:30 - Thursday also at 4:30 as many leave from NSU to Airport using Uber, Lyft or taxi (should take around 20-30 minutes).

Jenny Chiang As an assistant head for advancement at National Cathedral School, Jenny co-chaired the school’s strategic plan and re-accreditation, led a $56M campaign ($6M above goal), and staffed the board of trustees and committees. Prior to NCS, she held advancement roles at Potomac School and Dana Hall School.
She also served as director of admissions/western region for the University of Pennsylvania, associate director of admissions/college counseling at Brentwood School, Shipley School, and College Summit before her role as director of diversity at the Baldwin School. Jenny holds B.A., B.F.A., M.F.A. degrees from the University of Pennsylvania, and started her career at Saatchi & Saatchi Advertising. She has shown her artwork and photos in numerous exhibitions, including shows mounted by the Corcoran Gallery, the Washington Post, and USA Today. She and her family travel widely, with a particular love of hiking in the national parks and attending Broadway shows.
Silvia Rosenthal Tolisano is an internationally acclaimed educator, blogger, author, coach, and consultant specializing in communication, social media and documenting learning. She has worked on six continents, sharing her passion and experience in globally connected learning, pedagogical and heutagogical documentation, and social media for international schools. She is a Third Culture Kid (TCK). Born in Germany, raised in Argentina, having lived shortly in Brazil, is now planted in the United States.
Silvia holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Spanish with a minor in International Studies, and a Master’s Degree in Education with an emphasis in Instructional Technology. She has worked as a World Language teacher, technology integration facilitator, 21st century learning specialist, social media coordinator, and professional development and educational consultant. She is a Curriculum21 faculty member, co-founder of edJEWcon, author of Digital Storytelling Tools for Educators (Lulu, 2010), and co-author of Mastering Digital Literacy and Mastering Global Literacy (Solution Tree, 2013) and A Guide to Documenting Learning (Corwin Press, 2018).

AAIE Event Refund/Cancellation Policy
The Association for the Advancement of International Education (AAIE) reserves the right to cancel an event due to low enrollment or other circumstances which would make the event non-viable. If AAIE cancels an event, registrants will be offered a full refund for all AAIE registration fees, or provide the option to transfer registration to another event of the registrant’s choosing. In the event of low enrollment, AAIE will notify via email all registered participants no less than 4 weeks prior to the date of the event.
Photographs and Videos
Please be advised that photographs and videos will be taken at the event for use on the AAIE website and in the press, AAIE marketing materials, and all other AAIE publications. By participating in an AAIE 2017-18 Session, you consent to AAIE staff photographing and using your image and likeness. AAIE reserves the right to use any photograph/video taken at AAIE 2017-18 events, without the expressed written permission of those included within the photograph/video. AAIE may use the photograph/video in publications or other media material produced, used or contracted by AAIE including but not limited to: brochures, invitations, books, newspapers, magazines, television, websites, etc.
