David Chojnacki

David Chojnacki has had a lifetime of engagement in, leadership of and networking with independent schools around the world, most recently focusing on  school governance.  He has been the head of four international schools: the International School of Ouagadougou; the Karachi American School; the American Embassy School in New Delhi; and Cairo American College.

Dr. Paul Richards

Join AAIE and Dr. Paul Richards for an afternoon of stress reduction and rejuvenation.  Dr. Richards, of The American School of Bombay, has a long history with international schools and is also a qualified trainer of Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction out of Brown University.  This half day  session is intended to assist participants in using mindfulness practices to foster rest, renewal, and stress reduction.

Jaci Nelson

A progressive educator, diversity practitioner and consultant, Jacqueline has taught in and worked with K-12, co-ed, and single-gender independent schools for over a decade. She holds a master’s in General and Special Early Childhood Education from Bank Street School of Education and presently serves as Director of Equity and Inclusion at St. Luke’s School in New Canaan, Connecticut.

Jay Golon

Jay is an educator with 20 years of experience as a teacher and administrator in independent schools. He currently works with Pollyanna’s clients to design and facilitate workshops and assessments that advance the work of equity and justice. Jay believes that all students flourish in just, equitable, and identity-safe learning environments. Ensuring that every child and family can be the fullest, most authentic version of themselves in all of their communities is at the heart of his work as an educator.

Rick Detwiler

Rick has worked with school boards as head of five international schools over the past 25 years. He is a consultant on governance and boardsmanship; consultant to NESA on its Board Development Project. Before joining the international school community in 1988, he was a US Navy officer, a Peace Corps volunteer in Botswana, and for ten years, a teacher and principal in Vermont.
