2019 Conference Highlights

This year's International Leadership Conference in San Francisco focused on tackling key leadership challenges as a community, encouraging conversation and togetherness. It featured a brand-new pre-conference format with a number of options, a Super Bowl Sunday watch party, World Community Day, AISH Oasis Day, and the Superintendent of the Year Award Dinner and Reception.

AAIE 2019 saw the introduction of town hall-style "Un-Keynote Addresses," thought-challenging "Head Talks," and "Deeper Dive Sessions" where you choose your leadership challenge and go "deeper" to learn from a team of experts.

Thank you to everyone who came out to San Francisco for AAIE 2019. Let's get together again in 2020 and find safety in each other's company and our vulnerability that we can all keep getting better. Your voice is needed. Bring an open heart, an open mind and open will.

Pre-Conferences

THE NEW PRE-CONFERENCE format debuted at the 2019 AAIE Leadership Conference in San Francisco. It's a full day digging into the leadership challenge themes - attendees choose the one deemed most essential for their leadership development. It's a day to construct ideas and possible solutions together.

HEADTalks/Un-Keynotes

The conference featured 4 Un-Keynote addresses and 16 HEADTalks; Eighteen-minute provocations from colleagues and thought leaders, everyone sharing in the "wake-up" call.

Superintendent of the Year Dinner and Dance

Singer/songwriter and educator Eric Dozier began the night with a rousing musical performance. The annual AAIE awards were given out throughout the evening, including the 25-Year Award, the International Innovative Leadership Award, and this year's Hall of Fame inductees. But the highlight of the night was of course the speech given by the woman of the hour, Rose C. Puffer, the recipient of the Superintendent of the Year Award.

Unwind

Attendees enjoyed the many opportunities to re-connect, network and simply unwind together as a community; and of course, to celebrate the Chinese New Year!
