Diverse on Purpose, Different by Design

2020 saw the continuation of Un-Keynotes, HEADTalks, and Deeper Dive Breakout Sessions. Pre-Cons took place Saturday and Sunday, culminating with a Sunday evening German Biergarten, Newcomer Welcome and Super Bowl viewing party.

On Monday, Dacher Keltner highlighted the opening session with an enlightening Un-Keynote address. A new feature that we hope to continue was a Tuesday morning Superintendent of the Year breakfast rather than a Monday night dinner. Andy Page-Smith was honored at the breakfast along with the winners of the other AAIE awards.

We also attended a Broadway production of "To Kill a Mockingbird" on Tuesday night, following a day filled with breakout sessions and community learning. Firoozeh Dumas graced us with a wonderful Un-Keynote on Wednesday morning, followed by a number or interactive panel discussions.

Being on Time for the Future

2019's International Leadership Conference in San Francisco in February focused on tackling key leadership challenges as a community, encouraging conversation and togetherness. It featured a brand-new pre-conference format with a number of options, a Super Bowl Sunday watch party, World Community Day, AISH Oasis Day, and the Superintendent of the Year Award Dinner and Reception.

AAIE 2019 saw the introduction of town hall-style "Un-Keynote Addresses," thought-challenging "Head Talks," and "Deeper Dive Sessions" where you choose your leadership challenge and go "deeper" to learn from a team of experts.

Thank you to everyone who came out to San Francisco for AAIE 2019!
