Leading for Purpose
Develop understanding of leadership responsibilities to strengthen child protection practices in diverse international communities. This session begins with sharing quotes from school leaders and students involved in abuse cases over the last three years as an introduction to a new protocol for managing allegations of abuse against adults, developed by the International Taskforce on Child Protection. School leaders will share their own experiences, why they participated in training with their teams, what they’ve learned and how they’ve changed their practices as a result. it iIntroduces a practical, research-based protocol and leading practice designed specifically for diverse international communities.
About Jane: Jane Larsson has led the Council of International Schools (CIS) as Executive Director since her appointment in 2010. Prior to her appointment at CIS, Jane was Director of International Partnerships with the Visiting International Faculty Program (VIF) in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. She began her career in international education as the Director of Educational Staffing and Publications for International Schools Services (ISS) providing recruitment services and resources to international schools. She currently serves as Chair of the International Task Force on Child Protection.
Michelle Kim, VP of Strategic Partnerships at TGR Foundation, A Tiger Woods Charity, and former Global HR Director at Accenture discussed the role of educational leaders & social entrepreneurs in the global economy, and building strategic alliances in addressing the classroom to career pipeline while creating a successful educational ecosystem.
