Summary -- Several schools follow the same drop/add procedures for IB as for any other courses. Several other schools give extended periods of time for drop/add of IB courses in the first year, allowing students to move from HL to SL quite easily even up until the end of the first semester. Rabat and Stavanger are currently examining the possibility to not allowing students to drop the full-IB until the end of the first semester to avoid "cold feet" syndrome. Try as we might to counsel the students correctly into the proper courses and proper levels, there are always those students that will be exceptions to the rules.
