NEW HEAD OF SCHOOL & 'RISING HEAD OF SCHOOL' MENTORING OPPORTUNITY
Are you a new or newly appointed International School Head/ Director? Do you ever wish you could call a highly respected, experienced international school leader for advice? Would access to such a trusted colleague support you in your leadership development journey and especially when unexpected situations arise as you lead your first school within the culturally and legally complex international landscape?
Whatever your situation, we would like to help ensure you have experienced support available to you! The Association for the Advancement of International Education (AAIE) and the Academy for International School Heads (AISH) have teamed together to provide our international leadership communities with this unique mentor/mentee program.
As a leader within an AAIE Member School you can benefit from this unique Mentoring Program for newly appointed school heads & directors at no additional cost!
The mentors are AAIE and AISH members who are experienced international school heads that have volunteered to assist mentees. They will be available, free of charge, via skype, email or phone for one calendar year. The two of you will work out the specifics of communication, based on characteristics of successful mentoring projects from mentoring expert and past participant tips and feedback. We provide you with a mentor and then the two of you use our unique resources to build a mentoring relationship that will support you in having a fantastic first year!
Should you wish to participate and be selected, please CLICK HERE to complete the short application and let us know your unique areas of need for support within your new role. For example, you may prefer to be paired with a mentor who is especially skilled in finance, strategic planning or board leadership. You may prefer to work with a retired head that has a wealth of experience, or one who has been at a particular type of international school or location (size, geographic area, governance structure, curriculum model, etc.). We will do our best to find the right match for you with someone in your time zone and get you connected for the support you need to have an outstanding first year!
If you have any questions, please contact Yolanda Murphy-Barrena at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information. If you are interested serving as a mentor to a new head, please also contact Yolanda at the same email address.
