Subject: Summary Commissary

As I am not sure how touchy this might be or get, I do not feel mentioning the schools by name is a good idea.  Those who responded to the question of who received Commissary Privileges who would not want me to release the information please tell me and I will not release your school.  Those of you who do not have, maybe if we start some pressure on our REO's, we can move this along.

I received 18 responses.

3 Schools - receive none

15 school receive commissary in one of two ways...

of the 15 that do see below

3 schools receive with/ alcohol and tobacco

12 schools receive without alcohol and tobacco

9 schools receive for all staff who are members of the American Club

3 schools receive only for the administration

3 schools did not mention any thing other than they received the benefit.

There are 182 A/OS sponsored schools, so this is less than 1% of those schools that receive the benefit.

One head mentioned that a school could be eligible if the meet certain conditions, hardship post, landlocked, tax free status, etc.

One head mentioned that a school could apply through the FAM  but I am not sure what the FAM is in US Embassy speak.

Many mentioned the American Club (which we do not have here) as they ticket as they can rent videos, buy food etc.

One mentions to be careful what we wish for.
