Thank
you to all for responding to my question
regarding tuition reduction at your school. A summary
of the results are below. If you would like to see the
entire summary, minus the names of the school, please
open the attachment that comes with this email. Please
let me know if you would like the names of the respondent schools.
A
total of thirty-seven schools responded. Ten schools
reported that there was tuition reduction (27%) at
their school and twenty-seven said there was no
tuition reduction (73%).The most common reason for
tuition reduction was to be competitive with the local
market. The major reason for no tuition reduction was
that it would be subsidizing those parents with more
than one child resulting in greater costs per child to
the school. Although I did not ask about reduction in
other fees, four schools reported that there was a
reduction or elimination of capital fee or other
miscellaneous fees for families with more than one
child at their school.
Jim
Ambrose sent me an older and larger survey
conducted by Peter Mott in 2002 covering eighty
schools worldwide. In his survey, 19% of the schools
offered tuition reduction while 81% did not.
Again,
thank you for responding.
Best
Wishes,
Bill
