Friends,

 

Thanks for your generous responses to the two sets of questions regarding

local hire/overseas hire benefits.  There were many permutations to some of

the responses, but as best I could, I tried to interpret the responses as a

simple "yes or no".  If you would like more detail, I'll keep the individual

responses for future referral.

 

 

To the second question, (66 responses) Do business office expatriate staff (business manager, registrar, admin. assistant, etc.) get free tuition for their children at your school? - again, there were several qualifying statements, but the "yes vs. no" interpretation is as follows:

 

19% said yes, but only senior staff, variously described as only the business manager, but some schools included other senior staff such as the registrar, personnel officer, technology coordinator, purchasing officer and support services manager.

 

48% simply answered yes.

 

31% answered no

 

3 % answered maybe, depending on individually negotiated contracts.
